At Yancey Eye Center, our goal is to promote good eye health and enable you to have the clearest vision possible. We accept several types of vision insurance, Care Credit, cash, checks, and most credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express). We inform our Vidalia patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of your appointment. If you require a breakdown of costs, please let us know.
Vision Insurance
If insurance is a concern please give us a call at (912-537-4400) and we will gladly assist you any way we can from understanding your deductible to any co pays you may incur.
Your vision insurance is usually contracted out under your medical insurance. Please find out your vision carrier from your medical insurance company by calling the customer service number on your card. We will need to know the vision carrier in order to obtain an authorization for your visit.
A vision care policy is not the same as an insurance policy. Standard health insurance protects you against financial loss due to unexpected illness, eye disease or injury. Vision plans on the other hand are designed to offer routine non-medical eye exams, glasses and or contacts. Various insurance and eye care plans have separate deductibles and copays so understanding these can be daunting at times. That's why our staff is thoroughly trained to answer any questions you may have.
Please note: We are not allowed to use routine vision care plans for medical office visits such as eye infections or treatment of any disease. The patient is responsible for all services rendered regardless of insurance coverage. The following payment methods are accepted: Cash, Debit, Check, Visa, American Express and MasterCard. We also accept Care Credit (Please call our office 912-537-4400 for more information).
- (VSP) Vision Service Plan
- EyeMed Vision
- Davis Vision
- Spectera
- Vision Care Plan (VCP)
- Core Vision Benefits
- Care Improvement Plus
- Avesis
- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia (PPO and POS)
- United Health Care
- Aetna
- Cigna
- Humana
- Medicare
Flexible Spending Accounts
Many employers are offering Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options to employees. Sometimes these are referred to as cafeteria plans and are elective, supplemental insurance savings plans. These plans are designed to let you save money in an account, pre-tax, to pay for additional medical expenses such as eye exams, glasses, contacts, and often laser vision surgery. Check with the benefits administrator at your work to see if you are eligible for this program. FSAs can typically be used in conjunction with any vision insurance plan to offset any out-of-pocket costs on your behalf.
Other Payment Options
Our Vidalia optometry staff understands that cost is a concern when evaluating vision care providers. We do not want cost to be an obstacle to maintaining proper eye health and good vision. We accept various forms of payment and are able to discuss financing options with you prior to any examination. At Yancey Eye Center, we also accept Care Credit, cash, check, and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express). Call 912-537-4400 today to schedule your eye exam today.
